- Who is participating in this program? All Saint Paul Public Elementary schools; and implementation of Secondary schools from 2008 through 2011
- What is the difference between the colors of barrels? Blue barrels are for the pigs (all the food and beverage waste); Gray barrels for the trash (napkins, ketchup/mustard packets, corn dog/popsicle sticks, etc.)
- When will the farmer come and pick up the food for the pigs? In the morning, every other day.
- How can I volunteer at my school during breakfast and lunch? Please contact your principal or the Food Waste Recycling Manager
- Are there any cost avoidance or savings by recycling the food/beverage waste? Approximately $40,000; once all of the schools are up and running.
- Where will that money go? Back into the district's General Fund
